Not the best at regular updates...

Well hello, fine people of the internet! June was the last time I updated this bloody thing, and what a time we have had since then!

In the last blog post, I said we were going to be performing shows over July and August. This turned out to be true, however, only the August 12th show at the Garage remained the same. Unfortunately the Beretta Suicide gig in July was cancelled, and we were thrown asunder! Luckily the fine folk at Pivo contacted us, and offered a support slot for "Hopeless Heroic"! We gladly accepted, and this turned out to be a properly kickass evening! There were magnificent bands, there were awesome times, we even had to evacuate the building because of the level of glory!

We re-entered the venue, amidst a sea of junkies and confusion, and the evening carried on as before! A very kickass night indeed :D

In August we then played a show at The Garage Attic. This was supporting "The Maddigans" on their UK tour, and we played with "Picnic Basket Nosedive", "We Demand Action" and "White Light Theory", all very exceptional gentlemen indeed! We were really thankful to have been offered that support slot as it was an awesome night and we met some brilliant folk!

At some point between August and September, calamity struck. With difficulties running through the summer, we sadly parted ways with our lead guitarist, and good friend, Craig Lees.
Who then to fill his mighty shoes? It fell to our drummer, Mr John Tilbury, to step forth from behind the kit, and strike up his tasty Les Paul! His place on the stool was then filled by Matthew Doyle, who has brought new levels of awesome to our sound!

Our next show was in September, headlining one of the always kickass "New Hellfire Club Glasgow" nights! We've played a number of awesome shows at Pivo, and this was no exception! Fantastic bands, fantastic atmosphere, and a really great night all round! We also got a tasty review, located here - Oh my yes!

We had planned to take a break then, and focus on working with the new line-up and writing some new songs. But then we got an email from The Classic Grand, explaining that a support band had dropped out of the Hip Parade show, and wondering if we would like to take their place. We all decided that the break could wait, and jumped at this opportunity. So it came to be, that 5 young scoundrels took to the stage supporting one of Glasgow's liveliest, and most extraordinary bands! We got V.I.P. badges and everything :O
I feel that this was easily our greatest show to date! The venue was magnificent, the crowd was superb, the lighting and sound was epic and, not to be too modest, we were on excellent form :P
Met Rob Shah from Hip Parade after, and he was a truly genuine guy, utterly deserving of the fame and glory! Glorious night indeed!

So now... The future! We do not know yet what lies around the corner, what terrifying obstacle may be in our path next. We can but dream. We hope you've enjoyed the ride so far! We want to thank each and every one of you who has supported us so far, by "liking" our Facebook page, coming to see us play, or even by simply reading this and getting involved! We have been having a hell of a time, and we hope to see you again soon!

Happenings!

Well, it has certainly been a while since I wrote the last blog post. Just about 3 months in fact! Not exactly prolific levels of writing...

So, in the time since you last heard from us, we have played 4 gigs at different locations - Pivo Pivo, Nice N Sleazy and Stairway. There have been some exceptional live moments at all these nights, and we thank everyone who's been awesome and come to see us already!
Our last gig was at Stairway for the North Glasgow Music Awards, or The NIGMAs. We were entered into the "Best Live Act" category and so were revving up to put on a damn good show. And that we did, with many people calling us rockstars after the display XD
Sadly, we did not win, but we had a bloody good time and we're proud of ourselves :D

Now, as well as the live side of things, we have been working on getting our E.P. produced over the last month or so. We are recording with the fine chaps at S.A.E. Studios, so big shout out to David Rees and Calum Gracie for being great helps! This will be our focus over June and hopefully we shall have copies that you can get your filthy paws on soon ;D

Our next two gigs are July 12th and August 12th, both in The Attic in Garage. In July we are supporting "Beretta Suicide" from Leeds and "Bec Sandridge" from Australia, and playing with Glasgow bands "Electric Vocation" and "Lyndsey Hurren", all leading to a nice mix of music for the evening. In August we are supporting "The Maddigans", a Canadian Pop-Punk band, and also playing with "We Demand Action", "Go Ninja! Go!" and "Picnic Basket Nosedive", three marvelous Pop-Punk bands from Glasgow, so this is going to be a bit of a mad one! Get on down and show your beautiful faces, and you may get a copy of our E.P...

So, that's the catch up and a look at what's to come for us as Hoverboards, hopefully you'll join us for the ride!

DEVELOPMENTS!

Well hello there, beautiful people of the internet. Here is another update from the world of Hoverboards!

As you should all know by now, we are only days away from our second gig EVER. If you have not been paying attention (or have, *gasp*, forgotten) then here's a reminder. Monday 12th. 7:30 PM. Pivo Pivo. GOD. DAMN. FREE! So all you cheapskates and skintflints and generally tight fisted studenty types should have no issue with coming along and letting it all get a bit mental :P Also, we are debuting a brand new song, so you're getting even more value ;D

Sunday the 18th we are playing at Nice N Sleazy as part of the Monster-A-GoGo Sci-fi Shin Dig Burlesque Night! There will be space age costumes. There will be loverly ladies. And there will be epic Punk Rock, not just from us, but from The Kimberley Steaks and Twisted Rainbow! It looks like it's going to be absolutely mental and a hell of a lot of fun. Happenings

Greetings people of the internet! Here's a little update from the lives of a Hoverboard...

On the 23rd of February we did indeed play our first ever gig at Ivory Blacks in Glasgow. It was EXCEPTIONAL! Thank you to all who turned up to show us some support, including the two other bands that night "Fluorescent Fields" and "Cyan Falls". Thank also to Matt of "Havercraft" for filming the whole spectacle. You are a champion, sir! Special thanks go to one Kenneth Millen, who boogied his ass off! You were truly the girl that all the bad guys want ;D
For those who missed it, here's a video -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WReRdTXLcLI&feature=related

Now, on to future business. Our next gig is on March 12th in a little place called Pivo Pivo. We are being paid in pizza and beer, a truly awesome form of salary indeed, and so this means it is a free gig and all you little scoundrels can come and dance your feet off with plenty of cash left for getting utterly sozzled :P

We are looking to do some proper recordings of songs in the near future, with the view to creating a first EP. Would anyone be interested in buying such a creation? It would probably be £1.50-£3 and consist of maybe 5 songs :D

Now, that's all for now. Enjoy yourselves and make sure you do plenty of this -

And so the day draws near

3 days, 72 hours, 4320 minutes, 259200 seconds. The clock seems to be ticking slower now that we get closer to the debut gig of Hoverboards. All five members have survived the madness and epicness thus far but can they survive the 3 days of stress and peril that will surely drive any sane man to the brink of insanity? Of course they can, and they will. For they are not just any mere mortals no, no, no, no, no, no, NO! They are lost boys/girls of Neverland who have vowed to never grow up just so they can rock your eager little minds. ROLL ON 23RD.

The dawn of a new age...

And here begins the account of "Hoverboards". Formed under the October moon, these 5 champions of punk rock are carving their own section of musical epicness out of this town they call "Glasgow". Blasting out tunes of epic proportions, with thumping bass and blistering guitar solos, they feel very proud of what they are creating, and hope you will join them in a dance. They are attempting to bring the life back into music and make sure kids know how to have a good time, instead of being miserable little gits. ("Bloody hipsters" -Eddy)
